Day 59

La Verkin, UT

Today we have decided to visit the Zion National Park which is just 30 minutes from our Airbnb. The weather was extremely cold and the sky was grey. Once arrived at the South park entrance we headed to the Temple of Sinawava trail which is only accessible with a shuttle during the high season. Luckily, the park was not too busy and we were able to drive up to the trailhead. The walk was beautiful but the weather was not the best. It was even snowing at one point. After this beautiful hike we took the car and drove on the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway toward the East entrance. We wanted to hike to one of the incredible panoramic view of the canyon, but it was not recommended with the kids. Many accidents happen every year at the Zion National Park because of the dangerous and strenuous trails. So we decided to find a picnic spot instead. Little by little the clouds slowly disappeared and we could finally see the blue sky. We stopped for a quick lunch since the temperature was still extremely cold. On the way back to our Airbnb we were amazed by the amazing sceneries of this region. Tomorrow, we will drive to our next destination in Arizona and we will get closer to the Grand Canyon.
