Today we have decided to take it easy after the long day we have spent at Cannon Beach yesterday. We drove around downtown Portland which is around 30 minutes from our Airbnb. We know that we are all going through extremely difficult times with Covid and the racial crisis in this country. Portland was basically a ghost town with most of the stores closed or boarded up, hundreds of homeless encampments in the streets (which I decided not to show here) and wastes on the sidewalks. All the parks were closed. To be honest it was sad to see such a cool city in this situation. So we decided just to drive around the town and go back home so the kids could rest a little. Tomorrow we will head to the coast!
